 Some time ago I was asked to do another re-hair of a doll from a repeat customer.  This time the project was a memorial for her pet dog who had passed away.

 

The project was a dual-colour rehair on the existing doll.  We're both quite happy with the results, and I'll have another couple of projects coming up for the same customizer soon.

MGR Sunbeam and Twilight

I had so much fun with the Collector Pony Merry Go Round set of customs that I decided to do another set.  This time, my base ponies were my favourite G1 set: the Year 2 Unicorns and Pegasi.

Let's finish with Sunbeam and Twilight.  Both were McDonald's Happy Meal G3 ponies when they started out.  The sculpting on their hair and blankets was all done in Apoxie Sculpt.  They were fully repainted and sealed, and jewels were added to give them some sparkle.  Because the original ponies already had sparkle in their glitter symbols, portions of these have shimmery metallic paint for added sparkle.

Fantasy Swap: Lauriel the Elf

This is Lauriel, the custom I made for the Arena Fantasy Swap (2015).

Lauriel is a Tolkien-style Elf.  She divides her time mainly between Lorien and Mirkwood, as she has relatives in both places.  But she is also a Ranger, and makes frequent trips to visit Elrond Half-Elven in Rivendell.  She is frequently traveling among the mountains and valleys of Middle Earth, battling the forces of the Dark Lord with her bow and quiver.

Her clothes, bow, and the points on her ears have been sculpted from Apoxie, and she's been fully repainted and sealed.  Her hair is a blend of Buttercreme, Golden Goddess, and Golden Sun.  Naturally, when I discovered my partner in the swap was a big Tolkien fan, I had to make her an elf-pony.  It's not for nothing that I chose the username that I did.
